My Accidentally on Purpose

My life changed from a simple look at my cervix

A couple of you have asked if Charlie is going to be the babies name after he or she is born. I gotta tell you I am pushing for it but Josh is stuck on our name we had picked out long before we conceived this little one. I think Charlie is a great name for a boy or girl. The dad’s don’t have much choice or involvement in the pregnancy as a whole so I don’t mind giving him the final say when it comes to this little one’s name. But that doesn’t mean I will stop trying.

Update

Today has been pretty eventful thus far. Barkley got his stitches out this morning. This is great news except his nail bed is infected. Poor guy it only means another round of antibiotics which equals more peanut butter for him. And we have to keep it dry.

I also had my cervical scan today. The ultrasound tech is so great. He asked if I wanted to see the baby before we do the internal and I said no. Just kidding who would say no to that. So I got another peek and confirmation of the sex. Charlie was pretty active thanks to the little bit of Dr Pepper I had this afternoon. Yes, I still allow myself some caffeine, and no not everyday. Charlie was also trying to suck its thumb so cute! The heartbeat also sounds great and is at 151. Then we did the internal and my cervix is where its supposed to be so all around pretty great news. I can’t wait until Sunday then I can say he or she. I think Saturday or Sunday morning I will put a post up and see what you guys think we are having. I like playing that game.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I literally worked all weekend. I closed the bar on Friday, opened it on Saturday, and worked a double today. I am pooped and my body is so hurting everywhere. It was slower so I didn’t have to work as hard and I think that helped. So I am going to catch up on tumblr and go to sleep.

Goodnight everyone!

I had my monthly visit to the ob office today. They last like 5 mins. They take my blood pressure (120/74) and then ask how I am feeling. Today we listened to the heartbeat for about 10 seconds. That is all. Well that and he told me to come in next week to check my cervical length. I had surgery on it so they want to make sure it is doing its job. I go in on Monday and then every 1 to 2 weeks after that for a scan. It is done in office so I hope it is deemed medically necessary and the insurance will cover it. Other than that I go back in one month.

UPDATE: a very wise lady let me know I forgot about the bringing in a urine sample, this happens every time too.

15 weeks people!!!!
Size of baby: According to babycenter.com he/she is four inches long or the size of a apple
Gender: Already known you will find out too on Feb 5th
Names: been calling him or her Charlie for the time being.
Symptoms: still a bit of dry heaving but knock on wood the nausea is going away, headaches are almost a daily occurrence, still a stuffy nose, and I’m gassy
Maternity Clothes: yes, jeans and I may never go back
Weight: up 6 pounds to 129
Fetal Movement: I am hoping to feel this soon
Sleep: Not so great lately.
Cravings: mandarin oranges, and if I see something I must have it but nothing out of the ordinary
Aversions: I am slowly working on eating veggies again, but my biggest aversion is grilled chicken just the smell of it sends me into a gagging fit
What you miss: I want to say nothing but I sort of miss the way I used to look in my clothes, I know this will change once I actually pop but right now I am super self conscious. It doesn’t help that a smart ass customer called me chubby on Sunday.
Best moment this week: Finding out the gender and hearing the beautiful heartbeat.
What I Look Forward To: I having another appointment tomorrow I may be able to hear the heartbeat again.
Other Interesting Things about This Week: Charlie can now react to light. If I shine a light on my tummy he/she will move away from it.

Josh is actually pretty lucky because today he isn’t feeling any pain. The stitches run down the bridge of his nose. It looks bad and I stumbled up the before picture it looked way worse before. He sneezed and I asked him if he were ok and he said I thought that was going to hurt but it didn’t. He took today off work because he works with kids and sports and I could see a ball going straight to his face but he wants to work out. What? I asked him not to so we shall see if he does. On another note we made plans for the whole family and some friends to come over on the 5th and it look like everyone is in except his dad he is unsure. I am glad I know now because I can focus on other things. I lied to my family and told them I don’t know so they leave me alone. But I like asking what they think we are having and then seeing if they are right.

Crazy Week for our Household

First Barkley needed stitches, then today I freaked myself out, and tonight while at dinner I get a phone call from Josh saying he is on his way to the hospital. Yes you read that right the hospital. He took an elbow to the nose and now its mostly likely broken. He is getting stitches as we speak. It happened in the town he works in which is like 35 mins away but he doesn’t want me to come and sit with him. He has been texting me during the whole thing and just said he took a needle to the nose so they can numb it. I feel so bad for him, he has the softest head of anyone I know. This is the third time he has been in the hospital for basketball related injuries. Twice now he has needed stitches and once it was glued shut being so close to his eye.

This isn’t really how I planned to spend the evening but I look at it as it could be worse and I should be thankful a broken nose is all we are dealing with right now. As for the gender a lot of you said to find out tonight and a few you said to wait. Josh texted me and asked what I wanted to do. Without telling him I asked him what he honestly wanted to do and he said that with what is going on right now he would really like to know. Then a minute later he said well are you going to text me the sex. I told him there is no way I am opening that envelope without him so he will have to wait till he gets home. I am going to tell my family that we don’t know otherwise they will try to drag it out of me and I might cave. But for all of you lovely ladies well you are going to have to wait until the 5th when I family finds out. At least that is the plan unless I cave and tell you sooner. But on a brighter note two of my close friends got engaged tonight!!

UPDATE: 12 stitches and a small break
